Testbed Cologne
It is the largest and most important testbed in the project. It consists of a broadband A/V network in Cologne based on web technologies and provided by the telecommunication company NetCologne with about 340.000 broadband internet customers.
Based on this A/V network users of existing urban or nationwide acting communities such as architects, cabaret artists, geocachers and interested citizens are hosted. These users are invited to participate and check out following CITIZEN MEDIA applications:
Kabadada and Kabadu
Kabadada, Kabadu is a web-based video platform for political cabaret, which allows everyone to present cabaret clips and which can be rated or commented by visitors and other users of the platform. The difference between these two applications is that Kabadada is for professional artists, theatres, hosts and cabaret related organisations and Kabadu targets cabaret-affected amateurs.
Unortkataster
The Unortkataster application provides a community platform for the citizens of Cologne, based on a shared city-map. The map thereby allows people to mark areas or places on the map, which are considered to be an Unort (bad places, considered needing a change), and to add opinions and media content to justify the personal decision of the marking.
Mediacaching
Mediacaching is an interactive and media enriched geocaching application, running on state of the art mobiles, where the participants are integrated as active A/V content producers as well as active A/V content consumers.
