Arrival by air

You have different options. Brussels is the closest large airport. However, both Amsterdam Schipol (170 km) and Paris Roissy Charles De Gaulle (400 km) offer better trans-atlantic connections. Baisically, you have direct fligths from East Cost to Brussels but not from West coast.

Brussels Airport is around 45 km from the city of Antwerp. The price for a taxi can be quite expensive to reach Antwerp (about 80 Euros or more).

Bus

Every hour a direct coach service departs from the airport to the city centre of Antwerp and stop very near to the central station. This coach service is operated every day from 5 am to 12 midnight: http://www.airportexpress.be/.
The coaches leave from the back of platform B at the bus station (level 0).

Train

The airport train station is located below the terminal (basement level-1). Up to 4 trains an hour connect the airport to Brussels North station in 15 minutes. From this station there are direct train services to Antwerp in 40 to 50 minutes. Get out at Antwerp Central Station.

Transfer Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport - Antwerp City

The airport is 400 km from Antwerp. You have to take a high speed train to Antwerp (+/- 3 hours) or an high speed train to Brussels (/-2.30) and next connect with a local train to Antwerp at the Brussels South station (Bruxelles Midi in French/Brussel Zuid in Dutch).
